A beautiful NOS Serphil was one of those small Swiss brands from the quartz crisis era that produced funky, design-forward dress watches using reliable Swiss and French movements (Lorsa, FHF, Peseux, ETA). Almost unknown today…
This model is a perfect example of the 70s Space-Age design - massive chromed TV / cushion case with an oval dial inside…
Case:
o tonneau style case - metal base, chrome plated - huge mirror-polished bezel
o NOS condition - still with original handwritten store tag A 15.000 20 on the caseback
o Fine condition with strong geometry and sharp edges, light storage marks on plating as expected for 50 years of storage
o 28mm without crown / 37mm lug to lug / 16mm lug width / 9.5mm thickness
Movement:
o Mechanical manual wind - Lorsa 238 3A - In working condition working
Date change around 1 o’clock, with semi-quickset function: date can be changed quickly by moving the time back and forth between 9 PM and 1 AM.
o For new or old stock watches, we choose in most cases not to modify or service them.
Dial and Hands:
o Stunning brown / bronze sunburst oval dial with baton markers
o Original white baton hands
Bracelet Material:
o New 16mm black leather strap with texture - suitable for the case
Conclusion / Condition:
A very nice and rare NOS Serphil, still with its original price tag. A great dress / design watch on the wrist.
