Founded in 1898 in Switzerland, Buren Watch Company established itself as an innovator in watchmaking, particularly with its advancements in micro-rotor automatic movements. In the 1950s and 1960s, Buren introduced the Intra-Matic series, featuring the revolutionary Caliber 1280 micro-rotor movement—one of the earliest and most refined self-winding mechanisms of its kind.

This cutting-edge micro-rotor technology was later adopted and further developed by prestigious brands like Hamilton (which acquired Buren in 1966) and Universal Genève. Hamilton incorporated Buren's expertise into models such as the Hamilton Thin-O-Matic, while Universal Genève introduced the Polerouter Microtor, designed by Gérald Genta. These watches became icons of mid-century Swiss watchmaking, blending elegance with technical innovation.

This Buren Intra-Matic represents a significant chapter in horological history, offering a direct link to the pioneering micro-rotor movements that influenced some of the most respected watch brands of the era. A must-have for collectors who appreciate both craftsmanship and innovation.
