Omega, founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, is the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932. Introduced in 1966, the Chronostop under the Genève line was Omega's answer to the late-60s racing and driver watch craze. Unlike a traditional chronograph, it uses a single pusher at 2 o'clock to stop and flyback the bright orange seconds hand - designed for timing short intervals. Created during the build-up to the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, the Chronostop became an icon of tool-watch design. This is Reference 146.009 / 146.010 from 1969 housing the manual-wind Caliber 920 with date.
