LIP was founded in 1867 in Besançon, France, by Emmanuel Lipmann and became the leading French watch manufacture from the 1930s onwards under his grandson Fred Lip. Fred Lip revolutionized watchmaking with semi-automated assembly lines and innovations like the Elgiloy mainspring and the first electronic watches worn by Charles de Gaulle and Eisenhower.

CONCLUSION / CONDITION:
A perfect watch for lovers of oversize jumbo design, fancy lugs and LIP heritage. For its time this 37mm case was enormous - today it wears like a modern dress watch with huge charm.
