Omega trench ref. 568.13 cal. 13''' SOB 

 From the early 10's this WWI ERA this oversize military oficcers Omega, manual wind movement cal. 13''' SOB, movement dates from 1910 and case dates from 1913 (source: "A journey through time" book), missing bezel, recently servided by watchmaker... 


Case:

o    Metal HF (Huguenin Frères) BREVET + DEM. serial 5380478 / H13661 , ref. 568.13, it was clean, marks and scratches all over, attention: missing the bezel

o    Fine condition with strong geometry

o   35m without crown / 39mm lug to lug  / 12mm tickness /  12mm lug width

 

 New generic plexiglass

Movement:

o    Mechanical manual wind Omega 13''' SOB -  serviced by watchmaker on June 2022

(movement was disassembled, washed, lubricated) 

 

 

Dial:

    o Untouched 24-hour enamel dial, skeleton radium numerals and hands.
 It is rare to find a World War I trench watch that still has the radium painted dial. If you send a wristwatch with radium painted numerals for repair and refurbishing to a watch manufacturer like Omega, the company is obligated to remove the radium before sending it back. Many of these trench watches that have been refurbished are radium free.

*The first tests of radium for luminous watch dials and hands date back to 1911

Condition

A true treasure with more than 100 years, in the beginnings of wristwatches in the military era of the first world war working well with the dial in excellent condition, unfortunately the bezel is missing but it is still a target piece of collection without a doubt because of the rarity these days.
