The Polerouter was produced in 1954 by Universal Genève in partnership with Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) by a then 24-year-old Gerald Genta. Universal Genève developed the automatic Polerouter to be more resistant to the strong magnetic fields at the North and South poles.
The version you see here is gold plated steel with a stunning gold dial. Overall, this is a beautiful designed watch with a rich aviation history and stunning microtor movement.
Case:
o Gold plated and back in stainless steel with visible marks and scratches
o Fine condition with strong geometry
o 34mm without crown / 40mm lug to lug / 9mm thickness / 17mm lug width
o Generic crown (not original)
o Plexiglass with some scratches
Movement:
o Mechanical automatic microtor 218-2 - working well
quick set date between 9-12h
Dial and Hands:
o golden with golden scale (some spots between 3 and 6h)
Bracelet Material:
o New 17mm balck leather with generic golden buckle
Conclusion / Condition:
A very nice piece in good condition, in good working condition.
