Universal Genève was founded in 1894 in Le Locle as Universal Watch by Ulysse Perret and Numa-Emile Descombes, and is credited with creating the world's first chronograph in 1917. In 1997, as part of the brand's rebuilding, Universal Genève signed a five-year partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute - the anti-poverty charity founded by Senna's sister Viviane Senna.
From this partnership was born the collection SENNA BY UNIVERSAL. Two lines were produced: The Senna 41 chronograph to commemorate his 41 Formula 1 Grand Prix victories, and the Senna 65 three-hander for his 65 pole positions - both absolute records at the time. The Senna 41 was produced in two versions: automatic Cal. 7750 Ref. 998.310 and quartz Ref. 975.310 like this one, available in several dial colors. Proceeds from sales went directly to Instituto Ayrton Senna.
This is not a fashion tribute - it is the official Swiss Made watch licensed by the Senna family.
